A Roll of Luck: The Bo Bing Mooncake Dice Game
The highlight of our traditional celebration was Bo Bing (博饼)—a unique, centuries-old dice game played specifically to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in parts of China.
What is Bo Bing?
It's a lively, communal dice game where participants roll six dice into a large porcelain bowl. Different combinations correspond to various ranks, all representing titles from an ancient imperial exam, with the grand prize being the coveted "Zhuangyuan" (the highest scholar). The winners claim various sizes of Mooncakes (or other prizes), symbolizing good fortune and a successful year ahead.
The sound of dice clattering brought bursts of laughter and cheering from every corner. This spirited competition was a fantastic way to boost team morale and share a slice of authentic Chinese culture.
Energetic Vibes: Beach BBQ and Singing Our Way Home
Following the excitement of Bo Bing, we headed to the seaside for a relaxing Beach BBQ. Against the backdrop of the ocean, our team members transformed into grill masters and food enthusiasts! Sharing delicious food, exchanging stories, and simply enjoying the scenic environment allowed everyone to unwind and connect on a personal level.
The fun didn't stop there. As a truly cheerful and energetic sales team, our joy spilled onto the road home. We ended the perfect day by singing loudly and happily on the ride back, showcasing the infectious optimism that powers our daily work.
